Tributyrin is a triglyceride composed of butyric acid and glycerol. Butyric acid belongs to the group of short-chain fatty acids formed in the large intestine during the microbial digestion process by saccharolytic microflora (such as bacteroides, bifidobacteria, fusobacteria, peptostreptococci, and clostridia).

Recommendations for use: as a dietary supplement to the diet, serving as an additional source of butyric acid.

Directions for use and recommended daily amount: adults should take 1–2 capsules per day during meals. Capsules should be swallowed whole with sufficient drinking water.
